The People's Artist is a for-profit scheme

This "art contest" goes against so many of our values. We are not here to compete anymore. Two friends had brought it to my attention that the People's Artist, with Johnny Depp as the spokesperson, is a for profit scheme marketed to garner paid votes where artists advance to the next level and who knows how many people are involved or how many rounds there are.

Apologies if you voted for free and used your time or paid for votes in the People's Artist "art contest". We will be much more discerning about what we participate in for community support.

So here we are again. Making the time to write, to draw, to paint, to self-publish. Do we feel well enough to pursue another grand project like our ambitions to publish Ornithopter were? Well, we won’t know unless we continue to move forward, one creative act after another.

Happier than we’ve been when we work on these things.

It took a scammy contest entry to realize the importance of our creativity and its value.
